Hey There, Keeper!

My girlfriend and I have been dating each other from the past three years and we love each other’s company..we are high school sweethearts and now studying in different colleges..long distance is hard , I agree but we are sailing through that ship while being strong for each other and standing by each other’s side emotionally and psychologically.

Just because of this long distance, it is very rare that we meet each other , it is mostly phone calls, messages and lots of Skype. We have been talking on phones so much so that we even fall asleep while on call with each other.
it has just been a hectic year as both of us had back to back classes, assessments, assignments, tests, socials and what not..amidst all this, I missed my girlfriend so badly..I was desperate to meet her, so when I got to know that I am getting a week’s off from my classes, I planned to surprise her, I booked tickets to go meet her(she lives in our home town Delhi and I live in Mumbai)..I took off for Delhi, went to my house(my parents knew about my girlfriend..yes, don’t be surprised..brown parents do not allow romantic relationships, I know.. but my parents are progressive that way..so are my girlfriend’s).
Next morning I went to my girlfriend’s house(which was the first time for me)..I took flowers and chocolates for her because she was mad at me for ignoring her calls from the last three days(I did it deliberately though)..I reached her door and rang the bell..and there she was, as radiant as ever..she was at loss of words..she was so surprised, yet so so happy..I could see her eyes shining…there she was, the love of my life!
The minute I entered her house, I realized that my girlfriend’s family was a huge fan of comic books. I mean there was a huge library full of comics..I even saw comic book frames, I mean comics were very well kept and preserved. I just couldn’t believe my eyes..my girlfriend never even told me about this obsession of her family with comics..to which she told that this collection was mostly her and her mother’s..some of it was her dad’s and her brother was not really interested.
I was so confused..that all these years I kept on blabbering about my knowledge about comics and what collection I have, yet she never boasted about her’s which was way more diverse than mine..she then said that I never discussed about comics with her..he always did it with male friends..I always considered comics as a male oriented hobby..pretty embarrassing it may sound..but it is true!
Now, there I stand..corrected, altered and dumbfounded..my girlfriend outsmarted me again..she has much better comics than mine and in much better condition..I think, I might get a few lessons for the upkeep of comics from her.
Not that I was not sure earlier..but after visiting my girlfriend’s house and seeing how cool she and her family is, I definitely got the feeling that she’s a keeper, I instantly got the feeling that this is the girl I am supposed to marry, this is the girl I want to spend my life with..she is the one I want to apologize to my whole life(I am an idiot, I make a LOT of mistakes..that I know of.)
